Weight loss menus have several key challenges. Either they are boring to the extreme
or they offer unrealistically small meals. I have even seen one diet program suggests that drinking a cup of herbal tea sweetened with stevia was a great, filling afternoon snack.
Fortunately, not all healthy eating plans are completely unrealistic.
Stick to Organic Foods
There are no two ways about it; organics are the way to go. Not only are organics better for the earth, they are better for you. The less your body has to fight to break down
chemicals and additives, the better it will work. Design your weight loss menu around healthy, organic foods.
Use only Raw Milk Products
Humans are simply not meant to process pasteurized, chemically laden milk. There is nothing wrong with consuming dairy, although the calcium in milk is not nearly as bioavailable as that
found in vegetables such as kale or sardines, but you should only use raw milk products. It is still possible to obtain such products, but you will have to look harder for them.
All Meat is Good – Kind Of
The things you have to be aware of when you purchase meat are that any meats should be organic and not raised with any hormones or antibiotics. Beef should be grass fed, not grain fed, and
for processed meats like bacon or hot dogs, they should contain no nitrates or nitrites. Select healthy cuts of chicken, beef, lamb, seafood or whatever you enjoy.
Green Leafy Vegetables
Kale, mustard greens, collard greens, bok choi and broccoli are all rich in calcium in a form that the body absorbs quite readily. Aside from the calcium, you find many antioxidants and a
great deal of fiber in each of these vegetables.
Raw Nuts and Nut Products
Not only are nuts chock full of healthy oils and fats, they are a good source of protein and fiber. Any nuts or nut products you do eat should be raw. Always keep raw almonds on hand
for snacking, in small quantities. Raw almond butter goes great with pears or apples. Tahini made from raw sesame nuts adds tremendous flavor to meats and fish. Remember, raw
not roasted.
Using these foods as a basis for your weekly menu, sit down and plan out your eating for the week. Once you have a plan, you will find that designing customized weight loss menus is easy and fun.
